 With the inspiration and blessings of the most revered Baba Shri Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj, and in reverence to his command, the Hanuman Temple in Panki, Kanpur was built by Pandit Durga Shankar Dikshit and Pandit Shiv Shankar Dikshit. The consecration of Shri Hanuman Ji Maharaj took place in Vikram Samvat 2020, on the seventh day (Saptami) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Magh, corresponding to 21 January 1964. Dikshit Ji was a renowned industrialist who owned a sugar mill and several rice mills, and was blessed with the benevolent and boundless grace of the most revered Maharaj Ji along with unwavering faith and devotion to him. Along with the construction of the temple, a trust was formed, and Shri Maharaj Ji entrusted its management to Pandit Shiv Shankar Dikshit Ji. The Shri Advait Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir Trust was established, and expanded in 1976. The trust further enlarged the temple by consecrating Shri Maharaj Ji's sacred idol in 2016 and the Shri Ram Darbar in 2023. After Shri Shiv Shankar Ji Dikshit, Shri Devkamta Ji Dikshit, Dr. Jagdish Prasad Ji Dikshit, and Shri Kailash Chandra Ji Dikshit have served as chairmen of the temple trust. The services rendered by Shri Mahesh Chandra Ji Dikshit and Shri Satish Chandra Ji Dikshit as secretaries of the temple trust are also noteworthy.
The temple stands as a sacred testament to the divine grace of Maharaj Ji, the devotion of its founders, and the enduring dedication of the Dikshit family to the service of Shri Hanuman Ji Maharaj.
